Garden BirdWatch is funded by our supporters, who pay an annual subscription of £17. This includes:
- A copy of the acclaimed 220-page Garden Birds and Other Wildlife (RRP £14.99), which will help you identify and learn more about your garden wildlife.
- Our quarterly magazine Bird Table, available online or via post.
- Access to expert advice from the BTO to help you identify, understand and look after the wildlife in your garden.
- Our weekly e-newsletter, packed with information on recording and identifying garden wildlife, and news from the GBW community.

- Annual direct debit – 12 months rolling subscription to GBW (£17 / year).
- Credit / Debit card – 12 months subscription to GBW (£17) with the option to renew at the end of the year.

We want to help our garden birds, but we also want to bring people together and support wellbeing. We therefore offer GBW for free to encourage people to discover the joy of birdwatching and nature.
Joining for free includes:
- Access to our online recording system
- Access to our resources and how-to guides for taking part in the project
- Our weekly e-newsletter with information on recording and identifying garden wildlife
To join GBW for free, all you need to do is follow these steps:
If you already have a MyBTO account
- Log in to MyBTO.
- When you are logged in, look for Garden BirdWatch under "Sign Up for Projects" and click "Register".
If you don't have a MyBTO account
- Create a free MyBTO account.
- When you are logged in, look for Garden BirdWatch under "Sign Up for Projects" and click "Register".
